Creel HQ Awaits the Spring

An improving morning so I walked up to the Kirk café to get the paper and a cuppa.  Geordie still isn’t back from his Madeira jaunt;  Muckle Hector was present – his first visit for a while.  Chatted with Eoin.  Came back home and prepared information about the commissioning of a new stained glass window in the Hoy Kirk.  I saw Bert Jansch in Macduff Arts Centre in April 1997.  It was £5 at the door; at the time it was a reasonable amount for Bert to give everyone to get in.  On announcing the interval he went down the infamous staircase that leads only to the Ladies Toilets.  Listened to the radio about the sardine shortage in Fochabers.  I then noticed Bernard slipping through the Annex.  He was carrying some high quality writing paper and a packet of starch.  When challenged he reported he was going to write a stiff letter to his MSP.

So it’s a final farewell to the 1956 winner of the Val Barker Trophy.
