I baked my two small loaves first thing and was very pleased with the result. The best I've made in ages. See the crumb in extras.

It's been a very dismal day, completely overcast and spitting with rain from time to time. We haven't been anywhere. The walk S planned to go on this morning was cancelled, so since he was bored he went into extreme spring cleaning mode. I did my bit (and kept mostly out of his way) by making pintade aux choux for lunch. I'm on a roll -- this turned out really well too. We had it with some celeriac puree, and a slice of bread for tasting purposes.

As S had reminded me that my book group is this Sunday, I hastily grabbed the next read off the shelf. Luckily it's short, and an easy, amusing read, quite different from our usual choices. I'm already halfway through.
