Bull Banksia

I love the Bull Banksia and I was delighted to see a couple of flowers on the one that Mauzee and I had planted over a year ago.  They are just loving the sunny position I think.  The Banksia are amazing plants in general and they seem to be flowering all over the place at the moment.  King Park is scattered with them as well.  I was devastated when recently a magnificent specimen was just bulldozed out of the garden near the Community Hall in Augusta.  It was replaced with the most benign looking grasses.  The one they’re quite a low growing species and the one they removed used to cover an incredibly large area.  Now why would they do that? :(((. I don’t often vent my feelings like this but it did make me very very sad.
