Sap on Tap

Today the class visited a maple sugar farm and learned about the process of producing syrup. I think the most notable thing about the trip was how informative and kind the couple running the whole operation were. The entire trip was free and included samples for the kids. I was very impressed - even moved. Just one more reason to love maple syrup.

It's come to my attention recently that in some quarters pancakes are most commonly eaten with sugar and lemon. Oh my! Far be it from me to judge, but this is one area where I must say I feel incredibly fortunate to live in a land so blessed with maple trees. What a gift!
