After our appointments with the hygienist, and late lunch, we walked to the top of Botanical Hill from Branford Park, Nelson. Known as the Centre of NZ, it features the marker used by surveyors pinpointing the centre of NZ. See the collage for information and photos.

Next we walked up to Sir Stanley Whitehead Park - a rural setting and offering views across the City of Nelson and towards Tasman Bay. The top photo of the collage shows the surveyor’s marker on the distant hilltop.
