I had no plans for the day but as soon as I tried to find clothes to wear I knew the washer had to go on. Once the sun got on the back garden I went out to do a bit of pruning. It was chilly, even in the sun.

After lunch a drive to Grasmere . . . thought I’d look at the daffodils and other flowers in the Wordsworth Daffodil Garden. No parking spaces but the layby near Penny Rock corner was empty when I drove north so hoped it still was as I headed back. Success.

It’s just a short walk to the lake to enjoy the view and take some photos. More in the extra.
