Reflecting on the past

Any visit to Aviemore requires a walk to loch an Eilein and the adjoining loch Ghama where we scattered my parents ashes some time ago (see extra with small birch). I took a mini rose this time which might survive the summer but won’t make it through a winter, only the hard guys, heather, native trees survive winter in the Cairngorms. It was a nice sunny walk, around 10 mile loop from the train station and I was back early enough to have a delicious Cullen Skink at the Rothiemurchis cafe before the train hame.
