Muntjac Moment

Stunningly beautiful morning. Julia, Eden and I walked in Newhall Valley, all the blackthorn covered in blossom, robins singing loudly, a long tailed tit upside down on a branch.

Ahead of us on the path, Ju spotted this muntjac deer, peacefully grazing. I've only ever seen one once, on the other side of the stream, and it was running away. This one just moved along peacefully, until two large dogs started barking at it, when it disappeared into a thicket. Not great lighting, but glad to have captured the moment.

Muntjac were introduced from China early last century by the Duke of Bedford, and some have been deliberately released; apparently now quite widespread in the south of England.

Gratefuls:
- Deb and Chloë arriving safely in France for Celia's wedding
- getting a haircut, first in over 18 months
- Paul and Felicity coming for dinner
