First Chick-lit author

Headed out this morning armed with picnic lunch to do a bit of sight-seeing! First stop - Waverley Abbey Home in Farnham - base for CWR and EDWJ - some of you will understand those acronyms. We travelled along very quaint small back roads passing by some very old homes/buildings. G has wanted to visit this place for AGES and though it is not open to the general public, the people there allowed us to browse the book shop and even buy books.

Next we headed out on the A31 to Jane Austen's House in Chawton. We'd seen this in December on our way to the Christmas Market in Winchester so It was really good to go round the house and read up about this amazing author. I'm afraid you've got yet another collage - a lot of it is self explanatory. There's her writing desk and bed though the house seemed much smaller than the homes they show in period dramas.

So pleased with the weather today - none of the rain that was forecast and it ended warm and sunny! Charming Excellent! London tomorrow for the day...

PS. New glasses are good but making my eyes hurt a lot! :(
PPS. The picture of the Pride & Prejudice books are taken through a bit of Perspex and I couldn't get rid of that glare. Sorry!
