Englefield church

Englefield House is quite a landmark in Reading. It belongs to a family who are prominent in the local community. The house itself is magnificent and this church stands within the grounds. There is also a school and a 'village' of estate workers cottages. Much of the farmland around belongs to them. Opposite here the grounds are full of deer and the lawns sweep down to the lake. Several filmcrews have used the place over the years.
I used to work at the garden centre just along from this church and Lady B used to pop in to organise flowers, the gardeners used to come in for a coffee and everyone knew everyone else. It has a timeless charm to it.
