Caroline Bay Rock and Hop
....a Hospice fundaiser.
The Caroline Bay Rock and Hop has grown to a four-day festival of nostalgia with a '50s,'60s & '70s theme, featuring 1000 cars, caravans and motorbikes from all eras. Saturday is the big Rock and Hop Gala Day, over 100 stalls and around 25,000 people. The place was seething, the weather played ball, temperatures around 26deg.
The stalls didn't interest me at all, but were well patronised, just too many people. Heaps of folk were dressed in their best ’50s ‘60’s & ’70s gear and got into atmosphere. Food carts eveywhere and a Gin tent. It was announced after the parade that they had run out of gin !!
Like previous years, I went more to photograph the Best Dressed Competition parade (my blip) while waiting I watched the Rock and Rollers (extra) enjoying themselves to live music called The Drama Queens (2nd extra)....they were really good.
Difficult conditions for photography with bright sunshine, I actually didn't take many photos this year, but will put a folder in Flickr in due course.
