Sky High
This afternoon we went to watch Graham's cricket match. It was very pleasant sitting in the shade on a hot day but after he got out I went for a walk. It wasn't far from the lookouts over the Jamison Valley. This is the famous Scenic Skyway, the highest aerial cable car in the Southern Hemisphere.
I always think of my father when I see it. When I visited the Blue Mountains as a child I really wanted to go on it but he said he didn't think it looked safe! As far as I know none have failed and I have ridden on the more modern version. It has a glass floor which is fun, and for an extra fee you can actually ride outside on the top of it but that's not for the fainthearted.
The large rock below it is "Orphan Rock". At one time they built a roller coaster type of ride to it with the great name of "The Orphan Rocker". Unfortunately it was proven definitely unsafe as the test runs threw all the pretend people sandbags into the valley. So that project was aborted.
The extra is a cute kid I saw taking a photo of the two women with him.
