Golden Girls

Australia's Tian Beckett and Tennille Falappi (right) celebrate on becoming World Champions in the Womens Team Sprint at the UCI Junior Track World Championships in Glasgow tonight. It was a great opening night to the championships for the Australian team - with the blokes winning the Men's Team Sprint (Jai Angsuthasawit, Patrick Constable & Alexander Radzikiewicz) and the Men's Team Pursuit (Jack Edwards, Joshua Harrison, Callum Scotson & Sam Welsford).

There was one other rainbow jersey given out tonight, to Jessica Parra of Columbia who won the 7.5kn scratch race by a huge margin (and had a really nice looking bike in her national colours).

Great cycling and great entertainment. The names above may not be familiar now, but I'm sure if you look back in a few years that some of these folks will grace the podium in the Olympics.

P.S. As ever, hundreds of photos taken of bikes and racing, but it will take me weeks to sort them all out and there's another 4 days of competition to go ...
