Im and I went to Belgium for a little continental escape in my first fortnight of work!
We drove the Panda to Dover first thing, ended up missing our scheduled ferry when the car wouldn't start at boarding time (the battery has been losing charge, and decided to give up the ghost at the most opportune moment)... The AA whizzed to the rescue and replaced the battery, and we managed to catch the next ferry to Dunkirk and reached Bruges in the late afternoon. Phew!

We had a little explore, an excellent beer at De Garre (Tom's recommendation), and a beautifully atmospheric wander back along the canals to our guesthouse in the dark.
