Nucleum

This is a game that I'd seen played a few times but never indulged.  I was invited into a game today so thought I'd give it a go.  Not sure I'll repeat the experience.

The theme is ostensibly about connecting fuel sources to power stations and powering up buildings.  So far so good but that's about where the connection with theme stopped and it quickly becomes a semi-abstract 'area control' game with fiddly rules.

If there are two things that irritate me with some modern games it's themes so thin they don't help, even mislead, the gameplay; and fiddly rules.
