There was still ice on the puddles as we did a circuit of Gladhouse Reservoir following a series of minor roads, grassy and gravel tracks and a woodland path. Although there was a chill in the air the weather was glorious and sunny with good visibility. Sometimes part of the route is very muddy but today it was fairly dry and the only problems were trying to cross a very muddy stream and two very large trees which blocked the path in the wood. The photo shows a pine tree on the shoreline which had been struck down and was lying on the shoreline of the reservoir. The recent lack of heavy rain has meant that the level of the reservoir is much lower than normal which is a possible concern to the water authorities. Despite seeing numerous fields of sheep we noticed only two lambs but saw dozens of deer on a local farm and geese in the fields and the water.
