The Green

SATURDAY

A bright and sunny day.

With the kitchen now 80% finished, we finally began refilling the cupboards from the boxes scattered around the dining room, hallway, and garage. I started with the alcohol—although I don’t drink myself—and was surprised to find nearly fifty bottles of spirits, wines, and liqueurs waiting to be put back in the cupboards.

After the joy of having a sink yesterday, today we were able to use the washing machine for the first time in three weeks. We’ve been doing laundry at a relative’s empty house nearby. More bliss! 

Unfortunately, a quick search around the house failed to turn up any washing powder, so I had to make an unscheduled six-mile trip to Denbigh to buy some.

This is the only photo I have taken today, on my way home. It’s "The Green" - an area where the fields are used every August for the annual Denbigh and Flint Show.
