On Super Saturday, errands need to be done in the morning so we can settle down to a marathon of 3 rugby games, and so it’s a walk around RSPB Conwy before a Tesco Shop.

In such a glorious day the reserve is rich with birdsong - even though I just can’t find the songsters. The tide is in so the lagoons have more water birds than usual - most too far away to make good shots.

Instead, I focus on the vegetation, particularly on the tiny bursts of blossom that seem to have suddenly appeared. For now, the tiny posies of white are few and far between but in a few days the winter trees will be covered with clouds of blossom.

Back home, there’s plenty of entertainment in the three rugby games that bring the Six Nations to a close. France are deservedly champions, and the England performance is undeniably excellent.  Scotland and Italy have both performed well, though Ireland must be disappointed at the final placing. But as for Wales ….. 16 consecutive defeats, a second consecutive wooden spoon and a record defeat …… It’s certainly a depressing day for Welsh supporters.
