Art on a plate

A good day and later on we had an evening out, a meal in Tobermory at An Cala Ciuin above the Mishnish bar blip photoed on Thursday.  An  enjoyable evening eating through the taster menu with accompanying wine. A fun time with a lovely young woman looking after us.  The meal out was a gift from a neighbour, a voucher, much appreciated and unexpected, a lovely thought.  Friends from along the road joined us, I think they enjoyed the meal, it would be good to return.

My bf shows the first course of the taster menu, Tobermory Smoked Salmon, in a squid ink croustade, cream fraise and salmon roe.  It was light to pick up, we could see the piped art work, the squid ink croustade, was originally hollow and now filled with smoked salmon and crème fraiche. The salmon roe is the gold coloured centre piece.  It was surprisingly good, I wanted more.  I didn’t think to photo the other courses.

Extra, the view overlooks Tobermory bay, with lights on the opposite side reflecting in the water also showing John and C sat at our table.
