I learnt that one of our engineers will be let go soon. He was on a review period from January after some of the other engineers complained that he wasn't doing enough.

I was told he made an improvement and required proper training but it seems that didn't last.

It's a sad situation because he seems like a nice enough guy and has a family to support.
