Anglesey Abbey

Over to Anglesey Abbey, which meant driving virtually to work in Ely and then south to Lode. This is usually £19 entry but with a lottery ticket it was free to enter. There was a Shaun the Sheep sculpture trail which added an extra element to the visit. A good NT property with house, grounds, great cafe in the woods with tasty sausage rolls. The Queen Mother used to stay there when heading for the horse racing at Newmarket apparently and her bedroom was able to be visited. Back via the A14 - bad crash on the way but not too bad a queue. Home to cook Sunday roast and have a nice glass of red while setting up for another week of teaching to come.
