A view from Jeanneb

Words by the Water

A good day out.
Stopped at Country Harvest, with a great view of Ingleborough,  for a coffee en route to Keswick for the day.

Arrived in time for lunch in town and then made our way down to the Lake for a walk alongside Friars Crag and beyond.
This shot is looking across Derwentwater towards Catbells from the lake shore. I was a bit surprised that the lake cruisers were in operation as, although it was dry, it was a bit cool ti be out in the water.

We returned to the Theatre on the Lake, the main reason for our visit. I’ve wanted to attend something at the theatre for some time ang get their emails. I’ve heard Paula J talk about Words by the Water and when I got the preview information and booking form I decided to go for it. We attended the very last session of the festival, a talk by the Rev Richard Coles. I knew it would be something Chris would like too as we’ve both read his books. He was most entertaining and apparently the first book, Murder Before Evensong, is being made into a TV series.
Think we particularly like them due to the stories’ ecclesiastical setting and we liked him when he was on Radio 4 on a Saturday morning.
I will certainly look out for the event next year.
