Open for Service: The Cardboard Cathedral
It's been another long day at work, my longest for three months in fact. So, with the prospect of not being able to face fixing dinner, Mrs H and me decided on a quick thai meal to wind down.
After a fantastic meal, we decided to cruise past the recently opened temporary cathedral on Hereford St. 'The Cardboard Cathedral' as it has been dubbed, is constructed exactly from that - cardboard tubes, then topped by a magnificent flared polycarbonate roof with stained glass mosaic in the gable end.
This shot is taken from across Latimer Square, and I wanted to try to capture some streams of the vehicle lights into the image, but the bright lights of the cathedral - open for business with an evening service - somewhat overpowered the relatively sparse traffic.
I do like the starbursts caused by the streetlights though, and the way that they backlight the skeleton trees.
Worth a look Large I reckon...
