Fiordland Crested Penguin

This cutie was found starving on the coastal shore. It is part way through its moult. When they moult they stay ashore so they don’t chill. They also don’t eat for 3 weeks. This fellow is starving and extremely underweight. It is being fed well, and is putting on weight.
Our big aviaries are covered in feathers. We are considering a side hussle- making pillows or sleeping bags. So many, so hard to clean up.
