Look Out

Nest building

First thing this morning I watched a female blackbird collecting organic material from the conservatory roof gutter. She is a very busy bird at the moment.

After breakfast it was time to head home. I’ve been very welcome down here in Dorset, and it has been great spending time with my sister and BiL, two of their three daughters, and R’s young son A.

The journey back is always a long one. I broke it up with a diversion to WWT Slimbridge. It’s that odd time of the year when winter visitors are leaving but summer visitors have yet to arrive. Still good though. The two Bewick Swans were the first I’ve seen in years - numbers have dramatically reduced over the years.
