Rivers and camp fires

I have been outside all day and feeling the chill but a fun day.  I helped on the eldest's school trip.  They went to Selbourne to Gilbert White's house.  They have been learning about rivers in geography so they had to get into the river and take measurements of they land, the measured velocity of the water with duck and then did some river dipping.  They caught lots of river shrimp and a few fish.  Then home and to Brownies where we did a camp fire, made smores and sang songs.  Tucked up in bed now warming up.
