Authentic
I am greatly tired of Microsoft Authenticator, which we now need to use to access our emails and the intranet. Systems brought in enthusiastically by operations people because it keeps them busy and industrious, but really so that corporations can sell expensive add-ons that we don’t need. No fraudster in their right mind would be logging on to fill in my timesheet, approve a purchase requisition or visit the intranet to search for a document. They wouldn’t be able to anyway, the search function in every intranet is woeful.
I had calls with a group of colleagues in Mozambique, so my spirits were lifted. There’s a kind of democratic animation to the discussions and interactions that the team doesn’t believe they have, but they do, compared to other places I’ve worked. It’s nice to be engaged in some good toing and froing to come up with a way forward.
A Coco Beach interlude broke up the day nicely.
