Dolly's Day

FATSIA JAPONICA

A more leisurely start to the day today.  Becky, Astrid and me left the house around 10am and walked to Northallerton High Street - its about a mile away. Becky and Astrid were booked in for a craft session so while they were doing that I had a mooch around the shops.  They were done in around 45 mins.  Astrid decorated a tea towel, put stickers on the front of a notebook and made a Mothers Day card.  Then we went to Hotel Chocolat for a coffee.  Shopping in M & S and then the walk home.

Had lunch and then we just had a relaxing afternoon.  Didn't  see much of Mike today as he was " working from home".

When it was time to leave Becky and Astrid walked with me to the train station - its about half a mile away.  Astrid insisted on pulling my suitcase the whole way.

My train came in at 5.26pm.  It was quite full when I got on.... mostly Newcastle United fans as far as I could tell.  The train had started in Liverpool and I expect the footie fans got on at York on their way back from London. The train journey to Newcastle was only 45 mins.  I had a bit of a wait for a bus home  but even so I was in the house around 7.15pm.

I had a lovely time visiting Becky, Mike and Astird and of course Newcastle winning the Carabao Cup made it extra special.

The Mono Monday theme is 'organic'.  I didn't have much chance to think of anything better so I just took a shot of something in Becky's garden... the  leaves of a Fatsia Japonica ( I had to identify it using my Plantnet app ). Thanks to GillyH and LesleyAlsford for hosting.
