Ticket office

I read in Rail magazine of the threat to close station ticket offices in parts of the UK. This is Johnstone with over one million users per annum on the busy Ayr line here since 1840 and with excellent services including a ticket office selling tickets to all the stations on the Ayrshire coast , Paisley and Glasgow and beyond. The friendly staff deal with enquiries and help every which way. It also has a cafe and friends donate pot plants books etc.The outside machine does not recognize my bus pass which entitles us over 60s to reduced fares such as £1.50 return to Glasgow Central being within the required 10 miles.
