Expedtion

School trips galore today!
Miss L spent the day at the National Archives at Kew which she said was really interesting. Her highlight was a letter written by Elizabeth I to her sister Mary the day before she was sent to the Tower. Apparently she took so long over the letter she delayed going to the Tower by a day!
I dropped Miss E off at her friend’s house before going to collect Miss L, as they were going on a school trip to Birmingham to see Death of a Salesman.
Then it was home for Miss L to finish packing for the practise expedition for her silver Duke of Edinburgh tomorrow.
She wanted to stay at her friend Miss L’s tonight so they could go together on the morning.
Once her rucksack was packed and we eventually tracked down the sleeping bag (because why wouldn’t you prepare for an expedition in half an hour the night before??!!!!) we set off to Tesco to get the provisions she needs (because why wouldn’t you do that beforehand either?!!)
Tins of vegetable curry, pasta and sauce, Quorn sausages, bread, jam, peperami, protein bars, crisps, sweets, porridge, and Jaffa cakes.
Her group has sorted out the menus - vegetarian and gluten free requirements - hopefully they won’t starve!
Once I’d spent £40 she happened to mention that two of the team aren’t bringing any food (wtf????) Those two might starve!
I felt quite teary taking her to Miss L’s to drop off. She’s off into the wilds for three days. It’s going to be freezing - minus two tomorrow. They’ll have no phones so no contact. I think that’s great but I feel unsettled not knowing where and how she is!
I suppose we’ll need to get used to it soon enough!
So when I got back it was just me and Mr K. Both our Little Misses off on adventures!
I went to bed and Mr K stayed up til midnight to go and get Miss E. She’d enjoyed it apparently.
