A nice encounter!

A few weeks ago I noticed the inscription above this door and noted it for a future photograph.  Today equipped with my wide angle lens I took this shot.  The occupant, an elderly gentleman, of the house noticed me taking the photograph and came to the door.  We stood and chatted for about fifteen minutes; he told me all about the town as he remembered it in his youth.  Unfortunately he didn't know anything about Alexander Mullan.  I noticed that the walls of the house are about 18 inches thick!   

It is not a wonderful photograph, but there is a story behind it.
