Coming Back To Life
A much more active day today. A good session in the gym this morning followed by an hour or so in the garden this afternoon, cutting back last year’s old growth on a couple of shrubs. I hasten to add that I was closely supervised by Mrs C at all times and only allowed to cut things that had been clearly marked. This is because I do tend to have a bit of a “scorched earth” approach to gardening if left to my own devices.
But, whilst awaiting my orders, I did notice that the Acer I cut back last November - and which has, to all intents and purposes, appeared to be dead for the last four months - is actually showing the first signs of new growth. It seems the dry, sunny - though not particularly warm - weather we have had this week is slowly coaxing the garden into life. Unfortunately, this means the weeds are also starting to grow, so we’re going to have to keep on top of things from now on if we don’t want the flower beds to become weed beds!
It’s back to the am-dram tonight with a rehearsal for the play I’m doing next week. Which is different to the play I’m doing this week! So far, I’ve managed not to get the parts - and, more importantly, the lines - mixed up…
