New trainers/shoes
Typically it was a bright sunny day when I walked down to get the bus to town. It’s annoying when I could have had a good walk at home but I had an appointment for a bit of body maintenance at Saks.
However first I went to Eldon Square to try to get a pair of comfy but attractive trainers/shoes for my next city break. I didn’t think the walking shoes would cut it. I tried many shoes on. Clinkards had nothing for wide feet and neither did the concessions in Ferwicks though a discounted pair of Dune might have done. I saw some lovely ones on Russell and Bromley (I got a beautiful comfy pair of their boots in a secondhand shop in Whitley Bay) and was surprised they were wide, fitted and I needed a smaller size. Unfortunately they were also twice as expensive than any other make and even more expensive than my walking boots. I bought them. Here they are.
I hate shopping but I did spot a White Stuff shirt for £20 and there was offer on Clarins so it was a successful day.
I got the metro to Gosforth then walked in the sun to Saks after which I had another walk to Regent Centre to get the bus home. Over 4 miles walked but doing it on the hill would have been preferable.
Progress in the bathroom today was less dramatic than yesterday. He was under the floor to re-route the loo waste pipe and moved various bits of hot and cold pipes.
Bombing in Gaza, over 400 killed, Trump and Putin plotting against Ukraine. What can we do?
