Crown Stays

A look inside No.10's boiler showing the vertical crown stays between the inner and outer firebox. Today was it's annual 'cold' inspection where the boiler inspector from the insurance company examines the boiler before all the fittings are put back on it. It passed, but we will have to replace one of the stays (not visible in the picture) as it is corroded (but still holding) when we do the maintence next winter.
