Not quite what I had in mind
I told Rich I was heading up the valley and I'd see how far I'd get. Maybe I should have been more specific and then this silly little thought wouldn't have crept in.
It happened at about Burnsall when I knew I was feeling OK and would definitely be making it to Grassington. I told myself not to be crazy, I haven't done much hill work but then the B12 bonus seemed to butt in and remind me that I'm still feeling on pretty good form.
Try as I might to oust it, it just kept bugging me.
By this time, I was well on my way to Kettlewell, and suggesting just doing the first ramp because that's the hard bit anyway. Well, by the time I was at the base of the hill, I thought, well, I've never stopped half way up before so I'm sure I'm not starting today.
And there I was, head of the valley and pretty pleased with myself. Beautiful conditions too but still needing to be well wrapped up. It was there that I turned round and headed back on the other side of the valley for home.
My legs knew I'd been up there by the time I arrived back but they weren't too tired to make it to board gamers in the evening.
