Chicken egg blue

A long time ago the ministry of defence wanted a colour with which to paint the underside of their Spitfires.
The ducks and the chickens and the geese all submitted their proposals.
TBF the geese didn’t stand a chance…
The chickens were a very close second.
Farrow and Ball made an offer after the war but went for kittiwake in the end as it was cheaper.
