What I've Done

By JohnGravett

What a difference a year makes!

Slightly surprisingly, I photographed this tree exactly a year ago today (just after we'd returned from the Lofoton Islands) Last year we had a pretty dreadful Spring, - followed by an equally wet Summer, as we had building works being done. This year we've had almost no rain for the past month, resulting in very low lake levels for the time of year. Even at Friars Crag, (extra) the low water mark levels are showing. I thought it pertinent today to show the 1939 one, the start of WW2, as the last remaining Battle of Britain pilot passed away today aged 105.

After 5 days of intense headaches, I saw my doctor today, who took some blood tests to check if I had temporal arteritis. I had a very worrying day waiting for results, which came back at 9pm, and fortunately gave me the all clear, as the effects can be really severe.
