Family Prints
My brother Steve is a professional artist. He’s a printmaker who specializes in aquatint etchings. In the 70s he worked in a cooperative print studio in San Francisco called Kala. Occasionally Steve would invite family members to try their hand at making prints. Today as I was showing Steve’s work to some friends, I came across some prints made in 1976 and 1979. In the top row the two together were made by my father (bottom) and me (top.) The middle one is by my brother Dave and the seagulls are by Dad. The middle row has prints made by my son Jason Nunes when he was seven and ten. On the bottom row the cat is mine and the other two are by my Dad. I was delighted to find these today and to be reminded of our family printmaking sessions with Steve. Google Stephen McMillan to see some of Steve’s work.
