Ridgeback Panorama

Given the news about the Tour de France coming to Edinburgh, I just couldn't resist getting the Ridgeback Panorama out, and taking it for a spin earlier this morning ... such a joy to ride.

I've been lucky enough to attend the Tour de France twice in the past: in 1986, I was on the Champs-Élysées, in Paris, and witnessed Greg LeMond win his first [of three] Tours; and in 2014, we went to a couple of stages in-and-around  Harrogate, in North Yorkshire, and actually witnessed Mark Cavendish dramatically crash-out at the end of Stage 1.

Personally, I think it's unalloyed good news that the Tour is going to start in my home City in 2027 - it's undoubtedly one of the biggest sporting events in the World, and I can't wait to see the Grand Départ  right here in Edinburgh :-)
