Spring!

It wasn't exactly warm, but the sunshine was lovely. I nipped across to Aldi and came back via the swing bridge to see if the swans were at their nest there. Yes indeed - this one (maybe the female) sitting very cosily on the nest with her partner dozing but on guard out in the offing. Same nest as last year - well, they did very well there with their huge brood last year. Maybe he's keeping the Xmas tree nest as a sort of bachelor pad where he can go and have a snooze......

When I got home I read on a FB posting from F.O.W.L.b (Friends of Water of Leith basin!) that she's laid one egg already!
