Planting Lettuce...
It stopped raining late last night....today started off with a threatening feeling of more rain... but sometime mid morning the clouds got whiter, fluffier and smaller....the sun came out and it has been a glorious day here!
This is Allicia planting lettuce in the early evening sun... i love the colours, the straw hat, the red band and the blue.... all set against the luscious green of the growing garden here at Big Hill.
Allicia is here for a few days - she's part of this program called WWOOF.... Willing Workers on Organic Farms.... Terry has had WWOOFers here off and on, for many years. It's a wonderful exchange of work for room and board....and an interesting experience for a variety of people to explore this stunning part of the world. There is a lovely spirit of interchange between us and these wonderful people....new stories to hear, new perspectives to ponder, all very interesting.
Allicia has been amazing in the garden....she seems tireless.... weeding, planting, mulching... just whatever needs doing! We're reaping the benefits of the bountiful garden at most meals....very yummy!
