Out and About

Diesel Gala

 - on this weekend at the Haverthwaite heritage railway.  This diesel train has been brought out of the engine shed onto the rails in the car park to be  shunted onto the line ready for action over the weekend.

For any train buffs out there I have copied the next bit from  Haverthwaite's  website:-
This  two car class 110 DMU ( diesel multiple unit) was once part of British Railways' Calder Valley fleet, built in 1961.  It was used a lot on both sides of the Pennines but became redundant when the Pacer and Sprinters were introduced in the 1980s.

Now you know. I think it's quite smart. They've kept it in good condition.
