Boat trip
Decided it was high time I came out of hibernation (thanks Raheney-eye for the nudge). Picked up where I left off in November with a trip to Rousay.
Bright clear sunshine but on the way out 45 mile an hour winds. The ferry was a wee bit bumpy to say the least. However not as bad as the return trip when it was nearly 60 mile an hour. Waves crashing over the boat from all direction as well as dipping and rolling. Plus of course the terrifying shudder as the boat hits the bottom of a wave.
Thankfully the journey is only 25 minutes or so but at one point I was convinced my car was going to be thrown over the edge and I’d have to swim for it. I chose to ignore the thought I’d probably freeze to death before reaching the shore and instead worried whether I should kick off my shoes or not. Such are the thoughts when faced with imminent death.
Thankfully I survived and distracted myself trying to take photos through the windscreen. Most of which were obscured by sea water, at least in this pic you can see something.
