How long?

So….the saga continues.

Big Bro decided that he was going to start some new weight loss injections today.  New start, new him….blah blah.

Got a call at morning break that he had managed to jab himself but pass out in the process and banged his head on (we think) the fridge and smack his foot (we think) on the table leg.  Upshot was that he couldn’t bear weight on his foot.  So, I legged it out of work, got him in the car and took him to local A&E, dumped him there and went back to work.

Got another call to say he needed picking up.  Went to get him to find that they wouldn’t give him pain relief because he had passed out (fair enough) but also hadn’t x-rayed his foot (why????) and told him he had to go to A&E elsewhere?  Took him home and said we would have to go after school as I was teaching all pm.

Got home, got him in the car and arrived at another A&E by just before 5.  Was triaged really quickly (woo hoo) and found that he was the fourth case that day that had been sent over from the first A&E without being treated.  People were not happy!  Had an x-ray by 5.20, so looking hopeful……

…….finally saw a doctor about x-ray results at 8.30!  The doctor thought he may have seen a fracture, but needed more x-rays so off Big Bro went again.  He was finally given some codeine.  Then we waited again.  Obviously, there was a problem with the second x-rays, so he had to have them done again.  By now, the tv had given up - it had been put on when we first went into the waiting room after triage - Blip.

Finally, at 10.30, he was released with an officially fractured foot, a boot and some crutches.  We went round Maccy D’s and got home at just gone 11.  Earlier than the last two nights, but still….

Got home to The Dopski having left her uniform out to be washed, so had to stay up long enough to put it into the shower.  What a fun day!
