Soft pine needles underfoot

Today was a shorter walking day, although it felt quite far and hard!

We visited Bekakku 4, Saba Daishi, coming on it by surprise from the back after we had taken an alternate route. It was calm and peaceful.

Then we walked along the road for most of the day (apart from this short interlude through the soft forest), hot sun and a fair breeze from the ocean.

We went to the convenience store to pick up dinner and breakfast as our lodging didn’t provide these, and then spent a bit too long looking at booking lodgings for further along the journey. I know some people chance it from day to day, but we like to look ahead! It’s a bit stressful calling to book in Japanese though.

Today we walked about 15 miles.
