Peaks 2 Day

Messages from Lucy at lunchtime. She and Reuben are in Barcelona, and this morning they ran the Ultra Marathon, which she finished in 4hours 10minutes, her personal best. Well done to them both!

MrM and I had a much more relaxing day, but quite energetic enough for me. This afternoon we started filling the raised bed with soil that MrM dug out to lay the concrete for the garden building. It all needs sieving to remove roots and rubble, and so far we've managed over half a huge builders' bag. It's a long raised bed, so it will take a while.

Neither of us felt like cooking after that, so we decided to have tea at Zorro's. Took much longer to get there than anticipated! Near Hade Edge we happened upon a cycle event when we were confronted by a man with a 'STOP' sign. It was a long wait before half a dozen cyclists and back-up vehicles passed through. MrM decided to take a different route in order to avoid the cyclists, but we had no idea of their route, and a couple of miles further on had to wait even longer for another much larger group of them, with several lead motor bikes, and back up vehicles bringing up the rear. Took a couple of shots through the car window while we waited.
Apparently it was the Peaks 2 Day Event.
