Tense
A busy old day. Since I've finally flip flopped enough and decided last Sunday there is no way I can finish a marathon in two weeks time and pulled out (injury, illness, injury), I'm sulking taking a couple of weeks off running so volunteered to marshall at Parkrun today. I really enjoy it and it's so motivating to see all standards of running and walkers give it their all. It doesn't matter it it takes 16 mins or 60 mins, people are still pushing themselves to achieve something.
After that I had to go mini food shopping and then wash the accumulated green slime and mud from building works (and next door jet washing their drive) off my car. It does look a lot better now.
While I may be sulking taking a break from running, one of the members of my club directed a documentary about last years Berkley marathon ( a very hardcore ultra marathon; Google it) and was showing it at the club this afternoon. I wasn't going to go but I'm glad I did as it was much more interesting and entertaining that I expected. Last year had the first ever woman finisher, within 99 seconds of the 60 hour cut off. Even though I knew the outcome it was still very tense.
