I Think It Came Second.
I also suspect that it was the gang of Magpies that were hanging about.
We were walking up to the pharmacy but I think .... know .... that this guy was past help.
There was a lot of activity at the nest box this morning. There was some entrance enlargement going on and one of the boxes was being emptied of debris (it has obviously been used for roosting as I cleaned it out last year.
I spent ages trying to get a decent (or even half decent) shot but failed.
There are half a dozen or so 'nearly' shots Here.
There was a short time at the lathe where I made a whistle.
It is made from an old (and I mean OLD!) baton (official description .... better known as 'truncheon').
For a small whistle (made from the 'grip) it is remarkably heavy.
I deliberately didn't remove all the tool marks as I wanted it to have some of the character of the original item. The 'character' marks on the main shaft are down to things like 'knocking' on doors - 'opening' windows - playing baseball with rocks when no ball was available ...... that kind of thing
