A foggy morning
was not what I'd expected, having left home with scattered clouds and a view of the half moon in the sky, however approaching the owl field what began as light mist became thick fog.
I've previously thought that focusing on dried grass coloured owls against dried grass was tricky - this however is far exceeded by the challenge of photographing barn owls in fog! However, when you have a barn owl gliding so close, the camera finally finds a bit of contrast and the moment is captured. Such a huge privilege to spend time in their company. Thanks to hubby for letting me borrow his lens (again)
Listening to skylarks, pheasants, tawny owl and other members of the dawn chorus along with these opportunities more than made up for the 5am alarm call.
Extras because I just couldn't choose!
Hope you had a good day!
