The accidental finding

Long journey South

My brother R drove me through the rain and haar to Aberdeen station this morning. Fortunately my sister in law S had arisen from a 2-day migraine, so I was able to say goodbye to her. The train journey was uncrowded. Although I couldn’t see much because of the haar, we did cross both the Tay bridge AND the Forth Rail Bridge. At Edinburgh Waverley I changed trains (should’ve done so at Haymarket, so much easier ) and got on a train to Birmingham, then one to Cheltenham, and another to Stroud. All was easy apart from the overcrowded Birmingham to Cardiff section (I got off at Cheltenham) with only three carriages.

Now I’m back home, having successfully transported an oil painting executed by my uncle John in 1970 from Connel Ferry to Glasgow to Aberdeen to Edinburgh to Birmingham to Cheltenham to Stroud, along with all my other luggage! It is good to see Steve again. Won’t be long before I’m in bed.
